Another update, I went to Premier Paint and Body in Meridian, MS through the recommendation of John O'Neil Johnson Toyota in Meridian. I spoke with Josh and he said he has helped a couple of Tacoma owners and had the paintwork reimbursed through Toyota. He took pictures of the damage and he said he would send them off to Toyota for approval to repair. He said that would take about a week. He showed me a Corolla that he had in the shop with the same issue and ran a razor blade over the paint and it just started flying off in chunks. The whole hood and roof of that car was being repaired. I asked him if he wanted me to mention his shop and he said he would take anyone he could get for this repair. If you are in the Meridian,MS area run by his shop or call Josh @ 601-428-7246, tell him Chance sent you. He was super nice and helpful.

I've got my fingers crossed that it gets approved and I will be getting a respray here in a week or two.

In other news, the dealership I spoke to on the coast was very irritated that all my local dealerships tried to pawn me off on them. She asked for the names of the Dealerships that told me to kick rocks. She said she was going to report them, or something, because they aren't supposed to deny us help with this issue, and since they are sending everybody with a problem to the coast, they can't help their own local customer base, too many vehicles from out of town. If anyone else has had this problem I can give you this lady's number because she wants to know any dealership that has turned people away.

I have the number of a lady who works for a dealership and she is out for blood when it comes to dealerships denying people help. I don't know if she can only help in her region, but it is worth a shot.

I had to call 5 dealerships before I found someone who would help. Don't give up and make sure to call Toyota and open a case!!!

If it wasn't considered Harassment, I'd say we flood this lady with phone calls about the paint Chipping on our Toyota's
Corporate will probably just slap her on the wrist and say thank you for saving us money.

From what I understand she is trying to do the right thing and get local dealerships to fix our vehicles instead of turning us away to some other dealer. She said that Toyota wanted to know which dealerships were doing it specifically, so maybe she can help.

I totally read that other post all wrong. I thought she was out for blood trying to deny claims.

in this case I wish this lady good fortune.

Its all good. She has been super helpful with this whole process and asked me for my VIN to track my truck and make sure I'm taken care of through all this.

My wifes Carolla IM is a 2017 with 19,000 miles on it . It is garage kept and detailed once a month. Guy that does the detailing showed me 2 spots about 2 inches where the blizzard pearl has began to chip under the hood. Took it to Toyota and they referred me to their body shop. I filed a claim and its been 3 months with no decision. The fecal matter is getting ready to hit the fan.

The paint under the hood started peeling last summer, the chip on the rear passenger door came flying off three weeks ago while washing the truck. Called Toyota customer service six times today only to sit 20-30 minutes each time waiting for a rep, never got through.

Typical shit Toyota paint. They get everything right but the paint. All 5 Toyotas I've owned have had terrible paint problems.

That looks exactly like mine. I had to call 5 dealerships before I got help. Customer service is just going to tell you it is not covered. I would recommend calling the dealerships and see if they will test it for you. Keep us updated on your progress. I am going to call my contact on the coast and see if she can help people from out of state. Good luck with the dealerships!

My white taco peeled in the same places. Someone once told me that the white Toyota paint was the worst paint color they sold because of fading and peeling.

Keep hounding the dealership, if all else fails go to another one and have them test it as well. That year and color of Corolla is explicitly covered under the CSP ZKG, you "should" have an easier time than the rest of us. Probably just incompetence @ the dealership. I wouldn't stop calling around until the get your car fixed.

I think most people that have bought a white Toyota will agree. I've heard of 2020 models having the same issue so they definitely haven't solved the problem yet. Have you gotten the paint repaired??

I ended up selling the truck, I didn’t feel like having the whole thing repainted and a place near me wanted $500 to “touch up” per panel.

About a year ago I talked to a bodyshop about getting my doors touched up and it was in that $500-$700 range per door.

I know that the paint is very expensive, but If I had to paint, I’d think I’d consider buying all the equipment myself and watching a bunch of YouTube videos. Lol.
