My direct question is could I fit 15 inch rims on a 2007 FJ cruiser by swapping the calipers and rotors from a Tacoma that originally ran 297 mm brake discs which can accept 15 inch rims?
Will the calipers and rotors mount properly to an FJ from say a 2003 taco or other similar set up that allowed 15 inch rims?
Assuming 2nd Gen Tacos and FJ Cruiser’s are the same platform I figured this forum would be where to ask as the FJ Cruiser forum solution is 2 inch wheel spacers to clear the stock calipers, which is mental. Thanks, Mike.

You'd be downgrading it 2 times, the FJ is larger than the tacoma, which cant run 15s. On top of that the FJ has an electric master cylinder that really shouldnt be messed with.

So a spacer or wheel with massive offset is the only solution. 15's are pretty much dead for a reason.

Out of curiosity, I just poked at parts on Rock, and TO ME, it does not seem possible to use the caliper from a 2003 Taco on a 2007 FJ. One method I would use sometimes is to look at AFTERMARKET parts on places like Rock (or even manufacturer's websites) and see if the same part number is recommended between the two vehicles.

In this case, using Raybestos, the FR caliper for 5 lug is FRC10609N and the FR caliper for the 2007 FJ is FRC11553N. Usually aftermarket companies don't bother with giving different part numbers when the part can be used for different applications (likely because it causes the need for unnecessary record keeping and increases the potential for redundant inventory).

And given how radically different the knuckles look (that the caliper would have to be bolted to), I extremely doubt it could work.

But my wife says I'm wrong all the time...
