that is some serious over kill:eek: I don't think direction is going to matter with as little room there is in an access cab

mines facing the back of the drivers seat but its only a 12. pics in my gallery. i dont think it matters either, maybe for sound inside but i dont think itll matter for outside.

also open one of the doors or windows and you will notice a big difference, at least i do. gives it more air to move around i believe. cuz our access cabs dont have all that much air space to move.

ps. i put mine behind me so i dont have to take my seat belt off and be uncomfortable if some was to sit behind me. with the box there they gotta sit on the pass side, but i do notice slightly more bass on the pass side

haha i have 2 12 inch subs in a big kicker box with a 700 watt amp. I face the subs toward the front. But i dont think facing it the other way will make a difference. Its loud as hell!!!

    NERD ALERT:

Bass frequency is omni-directional. Changing the direction does nothing if you have your crossover dialed correctly.

Because the bass has something to bounce off, creating more noise.

direction only matters if its in the trunk of a car. but in a truck its not going to matter

so your goal is maximum volume outside the vehicle? There are limitations to our 12v systems that we're not going to be able go get around. I'd suggest a gas generator and a concert PA system in the bed. You can have speakers facing left right and back, but the cab will block sound from projecting forward. You'll probably need a good roof rack to mount a 4th, forward-firing speaker as well. That way, everyone around you can have the pleasure of enjoying the type of music you like, and they'll all think you're super cool.

I'm really surprised that anyone is helping this guy.

But to clear up a few things...
    1) Sub bass frequencies are omnidirectional. These frequencies start at about 80hz and down.
    2) The pointing of the cone doesn't matter all that much. But it does make a difference.
    3) Loading is real.
    4) Bass frequencies are VERY long and take time to "mature". The first/best is 1/4 wavelength as far as I know. Loading off a rear wall will increase the distance from the wave origin to your ear.

Post the same thing up on CA.com or DIYMA.com and you'll get the same responses. No one has time to help some jackass wanting to bother everyone else going down the street with his thug music.

And I'd like to point out that I'm not intentionally trying to be an ass. I'm trying to prevent you from being one.
