Great write up! Could not have done it without this thread. Some guy ripped my right rear cover off, replaced it with back SR covers.

Thanks a lot for posting this. I just did my cap swap following these instructions exactly. There might be some slightly quicker methods or maybe some short cuts that could be taken but the method/steps described here pretty much eliminate any chances of breaking tabs etc... Taking my time it took me about 2 hours.

Roman at Toyota of cool springs is a life saver. Damaged this piece on my bumper and most Toyota dealerships were looking to charge $400. They're charging me $172 and I'll have it next week.

    That's for sharing this info

He's the best, f the other dealer ships in my area in Orange CA. I've showed them price from Cool Springs and they will not match it or budge from their price at all, so Tennessee will take my money then. Makes me upset knowing Orange gets the same part at the same price as CS yet they just want to gouge you. I would go to them all the time if they didn't.

Pretty ridiculous... It really just adds to the publics distrust of dealerships. Which is not a good business move in the long run.

I called a few local parts departments - two of them wanted $150 and would hardly budge, one of them wanted $120 and would hardly budge, finally one asked for $112 and agreed to go down to $90... Which was still $15 over Romans price.

    Crazy...

@R.Shaw @jake slatnick Have you guys tried Titus-will Toyota? Looks like their unpainted SR black caps are about the same price. Jordan @ Titus_Will_Toyota is great to deal with. There's Gary @ gunny1005 at Camelback Toyota who is also a vendor here and great to deal with as well.

$90 is a big drop if that's the case for the sensored bumper caps.

Here's a screen grab of the Titus Will parts page

Thanks for sharing - what's their website? Can anyone go to it and get the parts for this price or do you need to really to Jordan first?

Just copy the @ and the name after, but remove the space. Sorry, didn't want to call out to either one on the same post.
Jordan has his Phone listed in his profile page. They're on here and you can get a quote from either one of them. Titus-Will has a TW discount code also, and I think it may have been "tacomaworld", but you should clarify with him or just try it on the site. Gary at Camelback is in AZ and he's quick to answer too. I believe he doesn't charge shipping for TW members. Got my short bed mat from him for $85 shipped to SoCal.

    Cool man thanks

We should start a thread - Toyota dealerships that are there for Tacoma enthusiasts and post it up. Spread the word and bring them business

I think there are a few here and there where they chime in, but not sure if compiled as one, but these two stand out in the short time I've been here.

LOL, I only peek into the GB section and those two for parts. We'll see when the next time I need to order parts. Maybe can try to get a bid thread going for their biz. ;) Mod's might not like it.

Guys, I had a trailer jump off the back of my truck and ran into the back of my truck. Needless to say, it cracked my driver side bumper. Looking for some replacements. Anyone getting rid of any??? Help!!

Thank you MetrickMetal for the step by step, that was perfect. I also found it very helpful to have an extra person. Here's my new rear. Thanks again.

Aztec Taco, can you provide more information on"Brushed Steel" bumper cap finish. Is that a Plasti-Cote finish or something else.
I don't seem to be able to locate that on line.
    Thanks

I tried as well but didn't get to far with the towing package, it's really easy to tape off and paint. Only took me about an hour.

I removed my caps recently to pladti-dip them.

I read this thread and others for instruction, and made a quick video to help anyone who will be doing this in the future, fwiw
