    2 holes in my bumper.

I may opt to not use the bulky oem plate mounting block and just screw the plate to the bumper with a thin license plate frame surround.

I'm curious to how that will look, post pictures when you get around to it.

I didn't think of that one, I wanted to do away with them but the two holes are really ugly since they used that roughed edged screw.

I took it off, it was really bulky. Then inserted some nylon plastic phillips retainer clips. Will post a pic later

Yeah I was hoping there were some clean holes under there and I could sneak around for awhile without my front plate.
Next best thing might be removing the mount.

Holes in the bumper for the mounting block will be covered by the plate, so no issue with the holes being visible after the plate is installed.

The holes don't line up is what you told me on the other thread. I guess a guy could drill some new holes. Hard to believe just a plain ole deck screws are used instead of bolts/nuts to fasten both plates to the truck.

The bracket holes do not align up with the license plate holes, but once I made 2 new centered holes for mounting the plate directly to the bumper, the oem bracket mounting holes will be covered by the plate. Hope this helps.

Is it metal behind the black plastic on the bumper you drilled through? I stood there and watched a tech drill out the holes when I bought the truck. Guess I was talking with the dealer and not paying attention if metal shavings were falling to the floor or not. I would like to use something besides those black screws to fasten the plate to the bumper. Any ideas?

I had to twist there arm to get them to drill my bumper in Jasper, IN.
Tried to get them to drain the blue windshield wiper fluid but they said they needed a labeled container to dispose of it in. I ordered a Jiggler Self Priming Siphon Hose to deal with it myself.

Installed the front plate with an AutoZone thin license plate frame. I will eventually color match the license frame.

As you can see, the drill holes on the bumper for the OEM bracket are not visible. I still need to replace the black plastic screws on the bottom of the license frame with stainless steel bolts/nuts.

Looks like there is just enough room to drill the holes before the bumper slopes in.

I'm thinking about this bracket because I could use the holes already in the bumper and the plate would be more centered on the bumper.

Funny you mention the autozone bracket in your post. I actually tried that bracket first, but I just did not like the way that the slides holding the plate looked (not pretty!). I thought of painting the bracket silver in order to make the bracket blend in, but I opted to try the thin license plate frame. Also, the existing OEM holes do not exactly match the holes on the bracket that you mention.

As for the bumper hole placement for the thin license plate bracket, the holes are right at the slope, but no issues with the metal screws grabbing the plastic. I just punched a hole in the plastic with an awl and then screwed in the metal screw.
