I actually painted the OEM block mounting plastic in silver sky, but I still did not like the "hugeness" of the bracket. With that said, I may opt to reinstall the painted OEM bracket if the thin license plate frame grows old on me.

You have a pic of it painted? If I don't like I won't wast my time.

No pic with the painted bracket mounted (should have taken one).

Thanks for letting me know this. I was hoping the OEM holes would line up but I could center the steel bracket on the bumper and drill some new holes. My truck is black so the bracket looks better than the plastic box Toyota sent to us. Winter is getting ready to take hold here in Illinois and I live in an apartment building so I may wait till spring to deal with it.

I asked them not to still mine but I think I was to late on asking. Now that it's on there I'm trying to figure what to do. It's not the worst looking bracket I have ever seen. Just wish it didn't stand out so much.

My truck is silver and black. So i trying to decide if I like the contrast or not now.

Takes a max of 15 minutes to install if you have the bracket, screws and tools in hand. The holes on the bracket you mentioned are about a 1/2" narrower than the OEM bracket.

The easy part about all of this is that you can switch between brackets with no issues since all holes are covered by either the license plate or OEM bracket. Really an easy install.

The Autozone thin bracket comes in black, but I threw some Gen2 silver spray paint that I had in the garage on it for now. I will order up the silver sky paint this week in order to attain a better match. I used all of the silver sky paint that I had on the OEM bracket :(

I dont often peek into the 3rd gen world, but perhaps SLYBRACKETS could come up with a solution for yall.

I had my bumper drilled after requesting it not to be drilled when I ordered it. They ended up ordering me another one.

    My bumper is white,
Yeah I'll give those a try.
    Hopefully auto zone carries them

Thanks I will check them out.
I'll also measure the drilled home before I head over there.

They will do the trick. Secure, quality hardware and unobtrusive. They haven't updated the product to 2016, and I don't know if the 2015 brackets will fit 2016 Tacoma's.

I just used black. Might get some cheap dark grey spray paint on them to see if it looks good. But honestly the two black circles doesn't bother me. but the two gnarly drilled holes left from the plate mount was hideous, couldn't drive around like that

I'm with you on the one! Did you have to measure your holes? did you buy any specific size?

I bought two packs just eyeballing what I thought would fit. The smaller ones were a little too small, the big ones a lil too big. So I grabbed a drill and bit, and cleaned up the hole a little bit and the bigger ones fit. They are probably about 1/4" or so. Not sure
