I'm awaiting delivery of a new Tacoma. What I want to do is drive it this summer on the stock tires and put all terrains on in September and I'm looking for 2nd-hand rims to put the AT tires on.

It looks like rims (some with tires on) are going for about $400 to 500 a set around here on Craigslist.

Some rim sellers state "17-inch" on their ads.

I thought rims were rims and you can put 16 and 17 inch tires on them. Am I wrong?

I intend to stick with 16-inch tires as I'm not into hard-core 4-wheeling, more 60 % highway, 30% gravel road and 10% rough, muddy or, rocky terrain, though I require good snow capability.

By the way, if I did decide to go with 17-inch AT tires are the stock wheel wells big enough?
