One day I won't be the annoying FNG, and will join in the ranks of ball buster to other noobs coming into this hobby!

And yes, I do want to do a 2-3" lift the RIGHT way eventually. So please go easy on me when my questions come up in the future ;)

2 inches is more than enough, you don't want to go down the rabbit hole in a lot more money cutting up your truck chasing one measly inch. Just add an the inch in tire diameter instead and run 255/80/17 tires instead.

    Easy peasy.

Yeah, thats why i'm going trd pro 17" with 265/70/17 c rated... gives me a whole 1/2" lift! LOL. 2" is fine with me... just not sure WHAT to get as there are so many opinions. Wish there was a "lifting your third gen for noobs and everything you need to know" thread. For now though, the wheels/tires combo on stock is fine. This is way expensive after getting a new truck 2 weeks ago.

There is, it's stickied at the top of the forum.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...2016-tacoma-presented-by-toytec-lifts.395798/

There's also a suspension forum to look through.

and a helpline to call at headstrong offroad, Wheelers or Toyotec to discuss your needs.

Of course. I just meant it seems like you're an active member here and have done your research... so I'm thinking its the "legit" way and not a quick spacer fix. I might want to do UCA's... but you said you don't really need to in that thread.

Usually if you stay under two inches up front you won't need aftermarket UCAs, the higher you go the harder it is to get a decent alignment then you'll need UCAs.

My kit was ordered piece by piece but can be had with the different vendors.

Those questions are all addressed in the suspension threads I posted for you earlier.

You can also look at a 255/75/17 C load KO2 which is taller than the 265/70/17 and lighter than the E load 275/70/17 and works fine with this lift.

Plenty of things to do with these trucks when you look around.

    HeyBM

I looked into to your tires & rims and had my local dealership here in canada look up those sizes. It was a lot of back n forth phone calls and I'm so frusterated cause I really want those rims and tires. He had a hard time finding 17 inch for me and told me that Tacoma doesn't have 17 inch. He canvassed with some other employees who said that the 4 runner tires and rims will fit Tacoma.

Are the tires that you used actually for the 4 runner?

Do you know if they will fit my 2015? This was the last year for the old model and your 2016 is a bit different?

    Thanks

I am in Canada. They stock the black ones at the Jim Pattison dealers in BC. They are TRD 4Runner wheels, not listed for Tacomas. You need to give the dealer the part number. Their system will not show it as working for your truck, but they do. I have the grey version, which is not available in Canada. I had to order my wheels from California.

    Hey guys,

One last question/ concern on the TRD Pro 4Runner wheels setup. In about the middle of this thread someone asked about “scrub radius” and saying he was concerned with this setup. No one responded, so wondering if it’s an issue or not? Maybe only if it was a large offset difference like 2-3” or something?

I run 265/70R17 - BFG KO2s and TRD Pro 4Runner wheels, matte black. No rubbing at all even with factory mudguards.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
These wheels were actually made for the 4runner but will fit Tacoma's.. difference is that the stock 2016 is 1in taller than the 2015 so if you're on stock suspension may need a smaller tire.
