1953 Martin D18

My dad bought it new. He gave it to me years ago to learn on...which never happened. He died back in 2021, and I hate seeing it in my closet all the time.

Only thing he did to it was replace the original tuners with Grovers.

Anyone have a clue what there going for these days?

I found out last week it's a 1954 instead of a 1953. The serial number is 137*** I assumed if it was before 141345 it was a 53.

 

Wow. Some of the prices are $5,000-$8,000
I am not a guitar guy, so I honestly don’t know.

I only know what a Martin is because of the show “Pawn Stars” and “American Pickers”

 

I took it to a local guitar shop with an online store.

He listed it for $6,000.
