What's it worth... Seriously, what would you pay for it?
Whether you're interested in buying or not, i'd like to know how much you would pay for it...

    avg. KBB & NADA = $6,700
    3.4L V6
    257,500 miles
    STOCK
    everything works
2nd owner - meticulously maintained by both owners (have a 3 ring binder full of receipts to prove it)
31x10.50R15 with 28,000 miles (would guess they have another 30,000miles left)
95% original parts including original suspension and exhaust
    cold A/C
    power windows - freshly tinted
    power locks
    rear diff locker
    split 60/40 bench seat
new steering rack 10,000 miles ago
new battery about a year ago
timing chain was replaced at least once
    clutch was replaced
    all fluid have been flushed
    front brakes are about 60%
    rear brakes are 100%
spray on bed liner (2 weeks after the original purchase from the dealership)few spots of light
    NO RUST on body
    2 cracks on windshield
    1 small door ding
this is a solid truck, only issues are small cosmetic blemishes

Nice truck, if I could hurry and sell mine, I'd be interested... I'm assuming it's a V-6?

If the inside is as clean as the outside and runs/rolls as good as it looks, I would ask at least 7500 or 8000 for it, if not more.

Was wondering what part of Kansas you are in? I have been looking for a Tacoma for a while and so far yours has definitely caught my eye.

I could see that going for $8,000 in the Seattle area. No problem.
    Things sell like hotcakes!

My first tacoma I looked at (met seller at home depot parking lot) I had immediate competition from 2 random guys! They just walked up and started offering! The clean ones don't last long.

What people ask and what they actually sell for is different. I just learned that. Just sold my 01 cheap. I wouldn't go more than $5K on that. If people would pay $8k for a Taco with almost 300K on it call me I need to sell you a truck!

I agree with others. If the inside is clean and runs great, put $8k on it.

Good luck man. I've got a 98 limited similar to yours. Asking about 8,500 because of the mileage difference and such, but it is clean so I'd try and up it a little and see what happens.

Now granted I'm on the East Coast and have been looking at first gens for 4 months now, but as a consumer, there's no way I'd pay 8000 bucks for a 14 year old truck approaching 300k miles. For example....I'm going to look at an '04 with 151k miles on her today...for 9k.

IMO no matter how well it has been maintained 250k on any vehicles is alot of miles. Not just on the engine, but the body and truck as a whole. If it was mint w/low miles, I could see it going for 11-13k, but considering the mileage I would say 4,500-6,000.

Granted it is a nice truck, but here in Texas I can't see that truck selling for more than $5,500 - $5,800. No matter what you think the truck is worth, every buyer is going compare what you are asking to its Blue Book value. Given the mileage and year, 8K is a far stretch from what it's actually worth.

thanks for all the responses, it's always nice to get different perspectives. The truck sold this last saturday for $5,750. I really wanted to get 6 for it, but he came in head strong at 5,500 and i was head strong at 6,000... you get the picture.

I feel it was a fair price for both parties... If I were selling it in a mountain state, I wouldn't have taken less than 6.

all that being said, i'm really gonna miss that truck.
