What really sucks is package tracking,,as you watch your package pass twice by your house, within a mile,,then finally arrive at the step after the third pass on the freeway. Portland to Seattle,,back to the original Portland terminal it arrived at, then to here(40 miles north of Portland).

Fedex burned a extra 327 miles due to idiocy on the dvd burner I just got.

So there is your extra cost,,when it should have been about $5-6 for your parts. They tack on the "Whoops" percentage when they figure out there rate.

I lifted my truck a couple of weeks ago and I started to get the vibration between 30-40mph. putting it in 4hi did seem to help. However, I only get the vibration when I first start driving the truck. after about 3-5mi the pulsing vibration is gone. was this the same for the rest of you guys?

Mine did not go away over time that I recall. But other than that sounds about right. My vibes did go away completely in 4hi.

No. The noise we are referring to normally doesn't go away regardless of how lucky ng you drive but mine did seem to go away over about 35 mph

I want to make sure that it's the needle bearing before I buy the parts. Guess I'll just have to dig around and maybe have a mechanic look at it then. Thanks. It sounds like its the needle bearing though. Just want to make sure first.

To all the members that have done this upgrade. Is it just the driver's side? I have the same symptoms with my 2000 tacoma with 256k.

    Yes. Just the driver side.

Pretty easy fix just make sure you buy the tool from someone that has already done the repair as there is significant grinding required to make the took fit.

Does anyone have the specification, dimensions or tolerances on that tool? I can machine a tapped plate that goes in the needle bearing.

Not sure if I fit into the specific vibration speed as everyone else here, but I have a vibration at 50mph plus. It feels like it's coming from my driver front. The steering wheels shakes, feel it at my feet and my cv axel spits grease out all over the place. I had the cv replaced when I bought the truck two years ago and it has been spitting grease ever since. Today I got under my truck and could feel a bit of play in my cv axle where it goes into the front diff. The passenger side had some play as well but not as much as the driver side. My truck does have a diff drop as well. Any insight would be appreciated.

Anybody have a removal tool for sale? I'm getting the vibes described above (albeit much worse when cold; ALMOST unnoticeable when warm) and would like to tackle this before they get worse.

Modifying the removal tool is very easy with a Dremel.

I have no doubt about that, but if I can help a member recoup some of the money they spent on a (possibly) 1 time tool and at the same time maybe save $5-$10, then I would prefer to do so.

I just order the bushing and tool as well. Hopefully I'll get it done this weekend, then there will be another tool in circulation for whoever needs it.
