i have a 2002, and i am installing my lift on it. Well i knew that my drivers side diff seal was leaking a little bit, not much but still leaking. So i was just gonna wait and install a new one when i dropped the front diff out. Well i Cant seem to get the housing out where the cv axle bearing slide into it. i called toyota and they said it should just slide right out, but it sure didn't i tried prying on it and still nothing. wondering if anyone know what the magic touch is to doing the seal replacement or was i just not grabbing the balls and prying hard enough. any help would be greatly appriciated thanks

i just did mine about a week ago. i used a slide hammer puller to get the seal out. is that what you are talking about? or the cv axle?

im talking about the back housing for the cv axle. you know you got your first boot and your second boot closest to the diff, well i tooke the clip off around the boot thinking there might be something inside it holding it in, and didn't see or feel anything, but it is the housing that i can't get out,
