1st Gen Double Cab - Need some subwoofer-behind-rear-seat ideas!

Had a 2003 DC years ago, sold it, and now about to pull the trigger on a nice 2004 DC.

I have a vague recollection of making a sub-box for that '03, placed behind one of the rear seats. I remember having to hunt down very shallow speakers to make it work.

Anyway, i have no pics, no documentation, no memory to speak of. So, let's start over.

What have you all done for double-cab subs?

In it I discovered the low-profile (3" tall) powered subs they make nowadays, which go under the seat. Anyone put them behind the rear seats? Or would that be a waste?

 

I'm kinda in the same place as you thinking about putting subs in the bed because i have a water proof tonneau cover maybe making a box for them not sure yet .
