I'm going to start fabricating the first box the beginning of September so I should have pic's soon.

I will add your names to the list as interested because I'm thinking of doing a drawing for the first 15 customers giving a 10" box away for free.

sweet :) maybe you should do a 12" though, more popular size. cause i mean free box would be badass, but buying a new sub for it wouldn't ;)

Yeah I was thinking about that so I'm just going to refund the winners money so if you buy a 12" that's what you would get a FREE 12" box.

    Added to the list.

Question? is there any interest in the 12" or the 8" it seems the 10" is the popular choice.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to 86 the 8" box or design it for two or even three 8" Subs. So if there is interest for the the 8"s let me know as well as the 12"

Just a note I think a 10" Sub is the best bet for are trucks due to the small enclosure size the you will get just about the same SPL with 10" as you would with a 12"

I have the JL Stealth box and it is amazing. Is it expensive brand new? Hell yeah it is! If you are planning on doing something like this, you REALLY need to follow basically the same mold as the JL box and not that of the other one linked in here (very bad design in my opinion). A 12 will not fit comfortably in the space provided and will not provide enough air space unless you make it obnoxiously tall...which would defeat the purpose of placing it where the JL box is. If you want to do 8" speakers, then fiberglass both of your rear cubby holes and place a pair of 8's there.

Besides the amazing sound from the JL box...the biggest allure to it is, it does not look like a sub box but rather an armrest. In all actuality, you will not have to follow the manufacturing process of the JL box and make it strictly from fiberglass...you can use 3/4 MDF on the portion between the seats, wooden ring, then glass the "bowl" at the bottom around the speaker. If done properly, it will sound extremely good and be very sturdy. You will want the speaker to down and backward face to get good reverberation throughout the cabin.

Lots of ways to make these ex-cab tacos sound amazing...I'm sure that Ace_mechanic71 will attest to mine ;)

JL stealth box loaded with a 10JL W3
2 Elemental Design 7Kv.2 subs glassed and mounted in the rear 6.5 enclosure space
    CDT 6.5 Components up front
Elemental Designs NINe.4 and Phoenix Gold ZX350 powering everything

I'm really looking forward to seeing what your design is...but please, make it basically the opposite of the one linked in this thread!

Thanks for the in site that's the style I'm working on I to am not a fan of the box linked in the thread it just doesn't fit back there. I'm hoping everyone want's a 10" box because I think it will sound the best. But if it's a 12" they want I will build it.

i disagree. yes a 12 might not fit in there as well as a 10, but i don't think airspace will have anything to do with it. i have a regular 12" sub and it is designed to work in a sealed box with only 0.7-1.3 ft^3 of airspace.

i don't think achieving 0.7"^3 of airspace will be much of an issue. not all 12"s are monsters.

Alright I have been doing some measuring and I'm almost positive a 12" Sub will fit down firing. But not all 12's pretty much nothing with a large magnet and a deep mounting depth (JLW7,W6 MTX 9500, MTX 8500,RE Audio SEX12D4, Orion HCCA122 & so on) Also with a 12" you might not be able to open the center console all the way, it would still be accessible.

I still have to do more measuring and designing before i can say for sure if 12" will not allow the console to open fully.

maybe design the 12" size for somewhat compact 12's only :)

That's what I'm going to have to do. I'm working on a few different designs to see how large of a 12" Sub can fit. I'm sure with a 10" the larger Sub will fit I just don't JLW 7's or MTX 9500's would preform in such a small box.

Due to lack of interests I'm dropping the 8" box out of the options. If by chance there is someone out there that's wants a 8" box we can work something out. Nut I'm not going to waste my time designing something no one want's.

i have how ever stared working on the 10" design in SketchUp i will post a few images next week after the Holiday weekend.
