    yes
I did a H4 conversion on my truck with factory sealed beams and run Hella 100w halogen bulbs without any complaints, did have to add in a relay harness to get the full benefit though.

halogen is the gas used in most of the stock headlights that have ever been produced. ever. and i mean as far back as the 1800s. probably further, I don't know. Every standard automotive light has halogen in it. even your stock turn signal, map, backup light, and stop light bulbs. D2S is a type of HID light bulb. only made to fit certain vehicles like mercedes, bmw, and the like. It uses xenon as it's filler gas instead of halogen. when you go to a parts store and buy their "better than OE" light bulbs, or long life light bulbs, you're buying the same OE headlight design with xenon in it instead of halogen. it allows the filament to burn brighter since it can handle more. but it doesn't burn as bright as HID.

you can go on ebay and buy HID conversions for our 9003 (a universal part number) light bulbs. essentially, it is a HID bulb built on a 9003 bulb mount that comes with an extra wire lead and power converter to power the HID bulb. Take these for example. they have the same mounting as your stock 9003 bulb. but they're HID light kits that come with the ballast to power them. you just stick the light bulb in the lamp assembly, hook one end of the ballast to your stock wiring, stick it on the firewall close by, connect the other ballast wiring to the light bulb and vuala, HID lights on your stock truck.

that's probably what you're looking for.

also, these HID bulbs that i linked on EBAY come with a "color warmth" rating. the following picture displays the color warmth options you can get for any light bulb ever be it automotive, home, or utility. your average house light bulb runs around 3500k. a slight yellow. you don't get to pure white until about 6500k. blue colored lights are higher than 6500k. you can see in the pic. so if you want pure white lights or even those blue lights. look for 6500k-12000k HID bulbs. the ebay link i gave i think gives you color warmth options. ohhhh I see. those lights are complete lamp assembly replacements. everything you asked about has been in just changing the bulbs alone. this is something else.

those are called projector headlamps. they're complete replacements for your current headlamp assembly.
