1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

I'm going to get another set, or at least the driver side since I cracked that one at the PVC hole. Hasn't leaked since I gooped black RTV on the crack and then backed the PVC valve off some.

 

It's got good reviews, is small and he has a thread dedicated to it on toyota-4runner.org forums. Lots of positive feedback so I figured I'd try it out.

 

I need to find something for the tundras gas pedal.
It’s stupid touchy. It’s impossible to lightly accelerate. My avalon was the same way, but I put a 2010 Camry gas pedal in and it’s way better.

Camry pedal won’t fit a tundra.

 

Found this parts website on the 4runner forum as well. It's even better than the toyota one for part numbers and detailed parts diagrams. Pop in your VIN and go to town.

The 4runner takes a LOT of pedal to get moving. Way too much which is why I went with that device finally. Should work the same as the pedal commander although I've never used one. The Ram was FBW but never had a problem with a lagy throttle.

 

And then somewhere down the road, the 4runner is gunna get this.

 

my corolla is the only fly by wire ive been happy with. all the other cars ive owned have been either too touchy out not touchy enough!

 

you want to go with the FJ case and twin sticks huh.
does yours have the AWD case?

 

Oh i need ideas on what to do for an inner fender liner on the tundras bed... i noticed yesturday toyota never made one.. and i want to try and save this bed for YEARS to come

 

Yeah, V8 4wd 4runners are all AWD/full time 4wd. The FJ case swap will give me 2wd back and the option of 2wd lo range as well.

 

oh thats right. yours cant be turned off like the sequoia AWD setup.

 

Why not have them LineX'd or whatever professional spray on bed liner you like? Better than anything else really.

 

They also have the stupid electronic servos to take it in/out of 4lo and lock the center diff. Don't ever use them and they lock up which is a bitch to repair and spendy. The price of the case swap is about the same as having the original case and servos fixed.

 

that wont stop the mud and shit getting thrown between the supports and what not. linex wont cover all that up. a plastic liner keeps it cleaner.. and it should help prevent the wheel wells from rotting out like fords.

 

I've dabbled with the idea of AWD swapping the tundra. but now with the cap i dont think i'll need it.. it drives SO much better with that 200 lbs over the bed.

 

Ah ok, I see what you mean. 1/8" rubber sheet then that you bolt in? Make your own liner kind of thing.

 

thats probably going to be the plan.

or a ABS plastic maybe 1/8" thick
