oh thats right, hes putting in UCAs. Not today though - his paint changed screwed his timetable... at least I think it did. If he is trying to tackle UCAs and then coilovers tonight and have it ready to drive tomorrow morning, good luck dude. lol. midnight oil BONFIRE.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Just the coil overs shouldn't be bad at all though. Although honestly if I had to drive it in the morning I'd just leave it and roll around like a stink bug

Oh also @BartMaster1234, idk what to call it but I used one of the crescent wrenches where the handle is round and tapers down to a point to help align the bottom of the strut with the bolt hole, could use a punch to probably do same thing but it made it wayyy easier to align

Save some time, just put something in the back to weigh it down and level it.

It seems a bit counter productive to do the job in 2 phases. Much of your time will be jacking up the truck and removing and installing the wheels.

    Why do this twice?

I agree. Even if I didn't have anything to level it, who cares what it looks like for a few days

lol agreed. oh and here's a tip following on Nick's, I used the extension from the tire kit (lol it fits that lower shock mount PERFECTLY and large enough to make leverage an easy thing)

oh well. almost 0100 local, i'm out. good luck future boy - remember, torque lower shock AFTER its on the deck. don't want that bushing/bolt to seize.

I'm with Kirk on this one. Wait until you can do both at the same time. Although, I have a funny feeling you jumped right in already and started tearing shit apart.

That's actually a really good idea too. Doesn't take a whole ton of force, just a little bit of oomph to line it up. But yeah, I'm betting he's past the point of no return right now

was looking for massive rake pics to scare tyler lol but this popped up in my search. That really looks awesome! I like that front end look. No massive armor (nothing wrong with it but sometimes that minimalist approach). Anyone know what he did to that bumper? Just removed the valance and turns?

Not sure what they did (I have the older front end so those bumpers aren't familiar to me) kinda interesting that they mention the LBJ recall as something to watch out for, but don't mention anything about frame rust

The paint on the control arms need time to cure. I ordered an auto/body infrared curing light but it won’t be here until Wednesday.

I’m just going to install the coilovers for now.

I had a problem with my LCA not going down far enough. Ended up being my inner tie rod was at max angle. I had to undo the outer tie rod.

Remember, California paint is special. They add little if not any hardening compound at all. Thus paint takes far longer to cure, and is of lower quality than non-California spec paint. The paint can states one week to fully cure. I have a commercial infrared auto/body light coming in Wednesday, which speeds the curing process to 15-30 minutes.

    No, I’m not joking.

Okay. I’m half dead and not currently geared to process anything.

Can I drive the truck with only the rear lift? The rear is sitting at 24”, and the front is sitting at 21”.

I drove it around and I don’t notice any difference.

I figured I’d take @koditten ‘s advice and get the upper control arm and the coilovers done at the same time.

I need to deliver the old bed to @Sperrunner, which is about an hour drive on the interstate.

How long can I drive the truck with the rear lift only? Is it safe? Or is it dangerous?

Yes you can, only thing I can think off the top of my head is if you haven't relocated the brake proportioning valve on the rear your rear brakes might not have much power. Other then that it should be fjne
