I've just been knocking out jobs on all my trucks to pass the time. Between working 9 hours shifts on campus prepping staff for online classes. I've got a ton of venison in the freezer but nothing to go with it anymore. By the time I get off work the stores are closing in a few hours and nothing is left. Most grocery stores here are running hours from 8am-8pm.

I got turned away at 9pm last night. Might have to go in early one morning and see. The elderly and people with infants are the ones really struggling.

Still some more work to be done on mine. Think it's funny that @xtremewlr and I both did timing belts a couple days apart. The belt direction had me confused too until I consulted my FSM. What's the difference between plastic and the aluminum intake manifolds?

ACIS, lighter, better flow due to it being plastic (smoother, no casting marks).. less heat soak. it just helps with a little more power. ACIS is nice because it changes the intake runner length depending on RPM Shorter runners at high rpm for more power. longer runners lower rpm for more torque

Quick question does the manifold runner length and plenum size matter when its getting boost pressure like from a turbo

i mean the plastic ones can handle like 10-15 PSI without fear.. runnnig alot of boost you may run into issues over the aluminum manifolds. but i honestly dont know for sure how much the plastic will handle.

    Just in general though?

Say i turbo a 5vz i can still see it benefiting with low end tq from the mile long runners and moderate sized plenum at low/no boost off idle

But since power is about air flow and not psi i can see it hurting once its going by causing a restriction

I wonder how much it would hurt low end/help top end to make a manifold with short fat runners and a moderate plenum

factory manifold on the 5vz coupled with a turbo will net you some pretty good torque numbers but not make a ton of peak HP vs a high rpm oriented plenum.. gasket match the plenum would help

Why would it not be. You can easily gasket match all that

Even inside the runners?... unless it already opens up and only necks down for the gasket flange

The good thing about having a really young infant like we do (3 months) is they really only need to have two main things stocked up - formula and diapers. Less formula if they're breastfed. Our girl is about 50/50 breastfed and formula. I was able to pick up enough formula to last us a couple months at least and luckily diapers are still relatively abundant.
We're also lucky though that my wife mostly works from home anyway so she's always with her even before this whole pandemic started. Families with 2 full time working parents out of work right now will really be struggling I imagine. Especially if they rely on the kids being in school during the day

Sister-in-law just popped out their kid. Would NOT want to be in that situation right now.

We are pregnant and have a few friends with infants right now. Luckily the virus seems to leave them alone...smokers and elderly seem to be the ones getting it bad.

Not that they can't get sick, but the younger ones seem to shake it right off. :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:
