Ok school me. The camera that's reading the speed limits is the same one right? It isn't the radar sensor in the grill? Cuz the first thing I did was clean the windsheild really good. This started ever since I started parking outside over night and not in the 70* garage

the camera in the front window picks up lane lines. the radar in the grill is for pre collison and the cruise control, i'll see if i can dig up the FSM that describes what will cause it to not work

Yea I've been thinking about that and the different kinds of opportunities there. Anything "essential" really, not even as far as a pandemic is concerned but just more so everyday life. And something more available in smaller communities unlike the industry I'm in now, which is only really viable in a large city.

We'll see, until this whole thing started my work was going great and I was going to ride it out a few more years to increase savings and add to my new 401k they just started offering us in January. Hopefully in a month or so I'll be able to go back to it but regardless, this has made us realize we need to start planning for when we do move sooner rather than later. Got a lot to think about with this time off that's for sure

Thanks dude, much appreciated. I'm torn on taking it in as I can tell it isn't working but I would assume the system would give a fault and thus a warning if it was not functioning. Thanks again.

they typically will tell you LDA unavaible if its minor, or LDA malfunction if its an issue.

Interesting. I figured reading through that document that there are a coupl plausible causes, like the cold, the road conditions (sunny and dry tho) or others that could cause it but I would expect a warning saying it isn't available. I'll make a point to get it looked at by the dealership as it says it's on but acts as if it is off, with no warnings.

the LDA and pre collision are proving to be a pain in the ass honestly. not just for Toyota, but every company. it needs perfect conditions to work or it just doesn't and people get pissed

I drive in perfect conditions most of the time. Clear and dry. I used to keep it in the garage over night too (now that the windows don't freeze I leave it outside). And ever since moving it outside at night it gave up the ghost in the lane system. It is a pain I'm sure because it is hi tech but damnit is it something I really like in a modern car.

    Naw

It was due to the flavor combined with +100 degree weather and hot as fuck water

The rule in my house is that there will always be ice cold, bottled water in my house.
