Got that right. Waiting on a guy to message me back about a civic hatch that has a dented fender in Atlanta for $1500. May be able to get itcheaper. Depending on how it runs etc

If it was absolutely stock and clean, I wouldn't mind one as a daily driver.

Once someone starts modifying them, I throw up a little.

My best friend had 2-3 at a time including an ITR swapped front end Integra, K20 swapped EG, and a single cam gutted, turbo hatch.

We'd go to car meets together and between us in the group, I was the only guy rocking Corvettes, WS6, etc. I did have a single turbo RX7 FD but that's about as "JDM" as I ever got.

This is all purely a personal opinion of course; if anyone got one I would keep my opinions to myself and let someone enjoy their car

Shit man JDM is life. Love RX7s especially as long as they’re still rotary. I want one for a daily mainly but I know as soon as i get one I’m gonna lower it and so on.....

You'd be better off reliably with a Yugo over a RX7 Rotary for a daily.

Eh an RX7 requires a different maintenance schedule than your usual and reliable Toyotas and Hondas.

RX7 (and RX8) were always rotary.

You don't buy one to daily drive though as the gas mileage alone is horrible. Think I got about 12mpg give or take.

Finding one that'll run for another 60-80k miles before doing the seals again means you'll pay an easy $20k for the car alone.

I remember selling it for over $20k when I got rid of it only for a co worker to find it on Craigslist years later. He recognized the v mount intercooler, single turbo, tokico illuminas, tanabe springs, and more. Asking was almost $30k which seemed close to right.

They can be reliable, but the maintenance schedule, cost, etc don't permit it to be a daily driver.

The elite mentality is fucking strong in the rotaryclub forum

Hell, you topped off on oil either every gas fill up or second fill up using only Castro GTX as the engine burns oil naturally

Even meticulously maintained it's rebuild life is under 100K. That's not reliable at all and MPG is shit. That said they are a drivers dream and power per liter is insane.

I think the best daily is just another Tacoma, that way when the Mountain Mobile dies you can just take all the shit off and put it on the daily.
    The cycle continues
