    Guy who bought that 81 sold it to a convoy heading to Mexico for cheap. Can't save them all I guess. I contacted multiple people that would've offered him more but they couldn't get here in time.

    Then the guy went and bought tires and mounted them on the wheels I sand blasted for him. And quickly got buried in mud. I got some 80% tread cheap mud terrains already mounted and balanced in exchange from him, so the flatbed was on recovery duty. No way in hell I was taking my double cab out there. I hate mud.

    This was the first time the flatbed had good tires that were highway safe. It maxed out at 80mph in 5th gear with my foot to the floor. I'll clean the throttle body and try and find a better functioning throttle body spring to see if that changes. Thing is solid off-road. Got some experience wheeling a manual which was nice. Only downside was the constant shaking from the cab/headache rack contacting.

    Just changed them. It stopped misfiring. But time will tell because the misfire was intermittent. Sometimes it was ready to die right there in the middle of the road it was misfiring so badly, sometimes it’s totally fine. Been driving it for 10 mins no issue. The codes were for Cylinder 1 and 4 which is on the same coil.

    I’ll keep driving but it hasn’t come back. I’ve just been making circles around the block.

    Yeah would've been smart to buy it for what he had into it plus towing fees. Flat tow it home, hide it in the alley, and get a buyer here in a week or two. Someone who wouldn't chop it up in Mexico for parts.

    it wont get chopped up there. it's probably going to used by a cartel to do terrible things.

    almost all the 1st gen 4x4 tacos and 3rd gen 4runners we get at the dealer are bought by some dude who ships them to the middle east. to me, this should be illegal because I KNOW they're getting sold to terrorists.

    Nah it's not cartel ready yet. But you're right. Not far enough gone to be a parts truck. The guys that bought it rolled up in a 95ish Tacoma on bald tires, bed full of parts, pulled two solid axle truck wheels with bald tires out of the bed, bolted them on, and flat towed it away.

    @Empty_Lord

    Nope it’s still misfiring really badly. It’s Cylinders 1 and 4 that I got codes for, so I suspect it’s the coil.

    I mean maybe. A solid cab and frame would be stupid to separate. But who knows what a good cab is worth in Guatemala. Only reason the parts are even going down there is because they keep maintaining their trucks.

    They really like their 4WD trucks over there. My friend is Guatemalan and she drives her 2nd Gen all the way to Guatemala from Fremont, CA. The roads don’t exist.

    Swap the coil. If the misfires move
    It’s coil
