That looks awesome to me, but without the humidity

That's what we have to look forward to soon but luckily it's still not too bad yet

yeah it's definitely less harsh when you see it coming. My last breakup was that way, she dumped me after 3 years but we both saw it coming for at least 6 months or more before it happened.

I've been through probably...4? relationship breakups that were 3 or more years long and all of them ended because she ended it, I'm the kind of guy that will hold on to something I know is terrible for me just because it's part of my routine/habit lol.

What's that Matt Damon quote from The Departed...'if we're not gonna make it, it's gotta be you that gets out, because I'm not capable. I'm fucking Irish. I'll deal with something being wrong for the rest of my life.'

Except replace the Irish part with 'brought up catholic'. Pretty much the same thing

Me and the gf are going camping 2 weeks from now. Taking the tundra. Nothing crazy. Just an escape from the crazies for a night

    Test the camper life out

Well that Tundra has a huge bed lol. At least length-wise.

When I had a Softtopper I tried camping in it a few times, but it was terrible with 2 people (wife and I). Between the wheel wells there's hardly any space for more than one person, and being 5'11" I could barely stretch out in a 6' bed.

We’re both 5’6” and damn near the same weight... beds 8ft long and width wise it’s about 70” More than enough.

Height is limited... it’s got the super shallow bed like a 1st gen taco and the cap is level with the roof. But again. Minor issue

yeah that was the other thing that kind of bugged me, couldn't sit up in it. I mean you can't stand in an RTT but at least you can sit up fully.

Also the issue with bed/camper camping is that you have to empty everything out of the bed in order to sleep in it. For multi day trips that involves putting a lot of stuff either into the cab or under the truck/out in the open. With all the tools I bring on a long 4x4 trip that's kind of a PITA to do and risky to leave outside of the truck.

    @Sperrunner @Tour991

still trying to figure out a driving partner. But figuring gas prices the drive from Chicago to San Fran would be ~550 in gas.

I can just barely sit up in the cap.

Depending on what her future holds if we start camping more a rtt on the cap might happen.. I’ve already got rough ideas on a small cage to reinforce the cap (and mount it cleaner than those shitty cap clamps)

Can always just get a good ol' fashioned ground tent too lol. When my daughter gets a bit older and we start taking her camping with us, that's what I'm going to use for the family trips. I'll keep my RTT for myself when I camp/wheel but I don't want to have a 1 - 3 year old going up/down a janky RTT ladder at night. Plus you get way more room in a ground tent for way less money, better for family trips.

Ground tents are nice but in the snow a try would be better... granted I think she’s over the camping in the winter thing after last time (it got ducking cold)

yeah if there's snow on the ground there's no way my wife is going to agree to camp with me, so I'll be solo using my RTT lol.

The young Lady is pretty adventurous (more so than me) but cold is where she gets second thoughts.

    Meanwhile I love the cold.
