Utah is one of the only free states that I understand of.

Some of the CO mountain counties are giving $1000 fines to no residents who try and enter/camp/wheel there

I'd get an A6000 on sale, and use the remainder of money on a course or something.

Extra accessories will only go so far but if you don't know how to use it, it's pointless.

We've had an A6000 since it came out to replace the Nikon D750 I've had for years and the Sony is much more forgiving....point and shoot almost.

    Phones nowadays take amazing pictures.

That's from my Samsung S6 Active (released 2015) before I got my Samsung S10

Sometimes I'd just drive down there and have a lunch on my time off.

So relaxing especially during the week when there's a lot less traffic.

yeah we were lucky it was during the week and the weather kept a lot of people away.

Mine was a little more cropped in actually, was zooming in on the waterfall

Did you do any of the hikes out there?

I remember one that goes a good half mile inland while following a creek, have to jump between rocks and into the water since there's no official trail, and ends at a waterfall and bed of water.

    Beautiful hidden spot.

nah we walked along some of the trails to well known spots but nothing I'd call a 'hike'. We only had a few days to drive down from Santa Cruz back to LA while going through Big Sur, camped in some of the campgrounds but didn't explore much beyond the main attractions.

Ah, I haven't seen any main attractions myself but instead choose to explore the "hidden gems" for lack of better word.

I've wanted to camp out there since a few spots look really nice; instead I end up on BLM which is nice but not at all close to the water.
