Also, i helped put on a toytec assembled Billie 5100 lift with that billet spacer thing on coils and add a leaf and billies in back on that 2nd gen DCLB and I finally drove around with that buddy in his taco.... To say it improved the ride is an understatement. It was straight up like a caddie in comparison to before! This was a 2015 so the 'old' oem suspension wasn't that old, but boy was the ride fairly rough before.
I couldn't believe how much better it rode. And that was Billie 5100s I can't imagine how plush kings or high end coil overs would ride???
I guess my question is, can I expect that big of an improvement in the ride on my first gen as well? I know I know it's tough to say and every truck is different, but I'll be one happy mfer if my ride improves as much as my buddy's 2nd gen improved.

You going Bilstein 5100s as well?

I really liked the 5100s in the back with no weight back there; allowed me to go 20-30mph over a speed bump without feeling the bump at all through my truck. It's only when I put weight back there that I felt it was too soft.

New shocks will be a good improvement over worn out shocks any day. Just make sure you check your tire pressure to make sure you're not aired up by too much; that'll stiffen the ride quite a bit especially on 10 ply like myself.

Dunno yet. Wasn't going to go Billies because I thought there might not be too much a difference. There sure was a difference with his taco though.
But they certainly could be an option now man. They're inexpensive as well. I just wasn't expecting them to make too much difference.
So the 3" body lift that's on my taco was actually installed properly, in the sense that they installed the brackets to drop fan shroud and all those little things they actually did it right. Surprise surprise. So removing the body lift is gonna be more steps and time then I anticipated, so I'd rather remove the BL and install the coilovers and rear shocks and whatever I decide on leaf packs all at same time.
Anyways, I was impressed with the ride. His taco ate up the ramps and potholes like a champ. Caught me off guard, I guess that's all. Got me thinking about mine:D(but I secretly wanna turn it into this down the road so I still might even hold off lmao)

I really really like this :D

I'd rather we wheel Imogen pass and Black Bear pass and THEN if we have time, MTB is coo.:D:cool:
I'll never forget my week wheeling in those mountains. San Juan mountains is it? I think so, I forget. But it was those passes all around Ouray and Telluride and Silverton.... Man I should take Tuck and go camp for a week.
Heaven knows work has slowed down enough to prolly not miss much income :bananadead:
