My wife won't watch it either, any TV show that in any way, shape or form portrays child abuse/neglect she will automatically turn off and it will put her in an awful mood. Of course that's like half the shows I watch (I like detective/cop dramas, what can I say) so I have to watch most of my shows when she's doing something else

Just ordered the parts for my first big job on the truck (it's not that big) doing my own valve cover gaskets. Routine maintenance sure been doing plenty of that. This will be the major work I've done on a car since I sold my old modded to hell and back Lexus SC300 (did the 2JZ-GTE swap). No idea why but its way more nerve racking do it in your 30s with a car you care about then $1000 shit box you bought at 18.

I also define it being major since it exposes engine internals.

Those kinda scars run deep. I avoid all those shows with a passion lol, my family ties have gotten better as we've all gotten older but there's a reason I moved to the other side of the US and only talk to my parents about 4-6 times a year :burp:

On a lighter note, you seem to be a man in the know on these forums... have you seen a calculator or math formula around that I can plug gear ratios and tire sizes into so I can figure out my actual mileage? Right now my truck says I'm only getting 237 miles to a tank but my speedo is SO far off it'll read about 52mph when I'm actually going 60mph per GPS

Something like this? I don't think it takes gear ratio into consideration but it'll help you determine how far off your odometer is so you can calculate your actual MPG

    https://www.gitout.com/wpblog/bigger-tires-and-gas-mileage-how-to-determine-actual-gas-mileage/

And yeah I totally get it about the family history stuff. My wife didn't go through it herself but her mom and her aunt did (pretty badly), and she's super close with them...so that entire side of the family is extremely sensitive about that kind of stuff.

Divide 60(actual speed) by 52(indicated speed) for a ratio of 1.15, which means all marked speeds on speedo will be off by 15%, as well as mpg. 237 increased 15%, or 237 x 1.15 =~270 miles actually driven.
Just remember with your current setup you need to increase any speed or mileage related things by 15% to know the true number
    Clear as mud? :D:rofl:

My brain sees that first sentence and it literally just skips to the end lol, it's like I can't even help it.

Yeah that kind of stuff can certainly be abrasive. I can't do the fighting, controlling family or crazy (ex) girlfriend tropes where they spin abusive situations as "funny" by making them uncomfortable or over the top so it's a "joke".

Actually that's stupid super clear, I was always a fan of math and I was gunna make the formula WAY too over complicated haha.. I still kinda want to so that I can figure out how my cluster will react with switching to 4.30 gears (eventually) and that way I can know what stupid speedo gear to order for the transfer case and have my sheet actually accurate.

Once it clicks, you go Ooooohhhhh I see. And then you can apply it with ease to anything. Also helps to visualize why the 15% thing is applicable.
    Was gonna explain more lmao
But I realize I might be more an exception to rule in that I enjoy math and am fascinated by it:anonymous:
    I won't waste everyone's time:rofl:

Oh okay yeah, for all that stuff yes you will need more formula stuff and exact numbers. But yeah you get it. I see, youre looking for the formula to throw those variables into for planning purposes as well.
Gotcha gotcha, I can't help on that one but I can see why you'd want that info to help make right selections for your build:cool:
