If the boot is torn and grease is all over it, or you have a popping noise coming from that side that you know isn't the LBJ or tie rods, etc

Or if it fails and leaves you stranded lol

LOL my boot is torn and grease is all over. I'm debating just getting new upper arms. I have no popping or play though.

Yeah, it won't kill you to take your time and decide, as long as it's not busted. But without grease it won't stay that way for long.

it's probably ok for now but if the boot is torn then dirt, water, debris etc can get into the joint and it's days are numbered then

I used a pry bar to see if there was play and it seems good. I'll just keep greasing it.

Yeah it seems solid. I just don't want it to fail on me. Somewhere sketch like on the freeway.

It takes a lot for them to fail. My wife probably drove 2000 miles on hers all fucked up because she didn't want to deal with Hyundai for warranty work.

No matter how many times I harassed her.

It is either M6x1.0 or M8x1.25

Most of the hardware on the truck are those two sizes.

If you get both, they're cheap. If your truck is anything like mine, you'll have places to use the other ones.
