Hold off if it’s hot as balls and you can. The heat will just make frustration worse

Yeah, the 4runner is driveable, it just beeps at me now. It says it's in 4lo and beeps only in 4hi with the 4lo light flashing. And I can drive the Taco if I shouldn't be driving the 4runner like that.

To clarify, I don't think it's actually in 4lo. It doesn't feel like it anyhow.

I asked my dad awhile ago if he ever got a 4wd while we kids were growing up, he said one of our Expeditions was a 4wd and he only got it with 4wd because the salesman convinced him he'd use it for trips to make the family "happy". We never once went on a trip like that lol

Just be glad you dont have to work on a roof or attic at those temps. 100° outside is like 130° on a roof. It fucking sucks

Yup, agreed. And that's what really pisses me off. I was using it and it was working. And then it failed.

sometimes a little tap with a hammer will get it moving again too... as a last resort.

Tried that, nothing. Tried loosening the 3 12mm bolts just enought to wiggle the actuator housing to see if that might get it to engage/disengage. Nothing. Pulled the 20a 4wd fuse, nothing. So maybe try techstream but I kinda doubt it.

I don’t believe techstream talks to the 4x4 on those older 4runners. But it might

Yeah, I don't recall seeing anything for it when I was playing with it before.

I might have to attempt repairing the actuator myself -

Not a bad couple of groups. One on the left was the first one I fired, so cold bore. One on the right was the last one I fired so it opened up a bit, but nothing too crazy. Nice to know that the 174gr and 180gr bullets shoot basically the same with the same powder charge.

Damn! And this was iron sights? No scope on rifle, so no sight magnification at all? What distance? Great shooting man, at least to my amateur eyes and brain it is
I would be more than happy with groups like that...
