I have a 5-MT car where the MT radiators are never stocked. The automatics have brass nipples for the ATF lines. They never leak coolant. I cover the brass nipples with vacuum caps so they don't look like they have been left open.

Do yourself a favor and sell it. They aren't well made and spring leaks. One of biggest disappointments for first genners are those things

If you have crappy grounds still and are worried you can do this test.. here's a link to the whole article if you'd like to read up on it ruining aluminum radiators.

How much coolant does it take for the 3.4 to do a full flush and refill? Just off the top.

Perfectly good to do that

Just flush it regularly if you use the green stuff

When I've done it in my American vehicles I usually drain the old out and fill the system with distilled water you can buy in jugs from the grocery store (I'm a cheap ass and have a water filter jug for the fridge.. it takes me half a day but I use 3 gal of tap water that I run through the filter) then I run it for a couple minutes full of just water, drain again, and then refill with coolant mix

    I have mods
Sounds correct, been a while since I did mine tho.

Flush the green out and go with the Zerex Asian. To do a complete flush, get about 5 gallons of distilled water. Also pick up a bottle of Prestone Cooling System Flush. Drain the rad and the block of the green shit and then refill with the Prestone flush and distilled water. Run the motor until it's up to operating temp + another 5 minutes. Let cool and drain out the distilled water and Prestone flush. Refill with distilled water only and repeat the running process. Do that until you have no more fresh distilled water. This flushes almost all of the green shit out and also most of the debris in the system. Drain block and radiator each time. After the final drain, refill system with the Zerex stuff and you will be good for like 30 to 50k miles before doing a basic drain and flush with just the Zerex Asian coolant.

Did my Taco like that and it survives just fine in the stupid heat here during summer. Same with the 4runner but it already had the good, red coolant when I got it.

Two years is just fine even for green Prestone stuff. If you simply drain and fill radiator every two years, that will keep the system's coolant fresh enough to function as it should.

Yeah, the big no-no is to not mix the red with green in the system. The mixture can gel up and plug the cooling ports and radiator, and then it's over, something to do with different chemical compositions.

I don't convince anyone of anything, I don't even want to. I don't like talking with those types, waste of time. I like talking even less if it's people that can't think rationally and logically. I simply want to share my experience/s so people can know what to expect. I want you to learn it on your own because then you'll believe it and know it and share it.
We're better off leaving those close minded irrational folks to themselves. They'll figure it out on their own sometime. And if they don't, they'll struggle with leaky champion alunium radiators :D

Its only that particular generation that shared a significant amount of parts
