Oh, 90-92 model. Less desirable due to the smaller/much weaker engine but still unbreakable haha. Also no lockers.

Also I forgot to answer you earlier. I got into IT stuff because it's something I enjoyed at one time and had job experience in. Paid better than a couple entry level offers I got for things in my field. Figure the tech job experience is good if I want to keep doing that it looks great on a resume.

There’s a Toyota is leave me alone.

This thing looks pretty bad, I dunno about the camper though or anything really about the build itself.

Haha man you know everything about those things. Why didn’t that model revision have the lockers?

That’s interesting to hear. Tech jobs are always secure and always in demand.

Apparently not. I went to go open an account at Chase today and asked about it, said I have to roll them. I deposited some coins at Wells Fargo years ago and I had to roll them too.

I was debating going for a credit union, but I gotta say Chase is just too damn convenient. ATM's everywhere and the app is great.

Plus I have a College account so I don't have to maintain $1,500 at all times or pay the monthly fee.

What do you do again? That's a lot of wire.

Speaking of work vehicles, I was driving home and saw an AAA vehicle dressed in the yellow/blue livery with a complete graphic vinyl wrap on it. I got closer to it and saw that it was a 1st Gen Double Cab out of all vehicles. I don't see many 1st gens used as fleet vehicles anymore, Round Table used 2001-2004 single cabs for a while.

They were just an early edition, not much had changed beside body style from the FJ62. It was a carry over engine from the 62, all hydraulic trans, spider gear style 50/50 transfer case, no abs, no full floating rear axle, rear drums too.

My year was when everything changed, body got a couple little changes, new fender flares with more bulge, electronic controlled bus transmission with straight cut first gear, viscous coupler AWD (if one tire slips on an axle the other axle still has some power unlike the 90-92 models), option for front and rear lockers with abs and full floating front and rear, 9 speaker audio system, and most importantly bigger much more powerful inline 6.

I should say that both 90-92 and 93-97 have a center diff lock for either their spider gears or viscous coupler, so either can have agressive 4WD, one just has a better AWD.

The 90-92 have a center diff lock, that's it. So you can go from AWD to 4WD.

The 93-97 have front, rear, and center if fully optioned.

Interesting. Any reason why they discontinued it during that model revision?

Someone on here bought a JDM A340F from a 4Runner and it had the center diff lock on the transfer case. Wonder how hard it would be to make it work.

I have done two repairs myself, '01 CRV, and '12 Odyssey, and bought my '04 Tacoma with 15k on it back in '05, after someone else had done the repairs. Drove the '01 almost 200,000. Van has 47,000 on it, and '04 has 125,000 now. Salvage title kills value to trade, but if you keep them for years, the low cost investment pays big dividends. No regrets on any of mine. YMMV.

The 60 series didn't have diff lockers either, although Toyota had some auto lockers like Detroit for a tiny run. So it wasn't a case of discontinued, it was just never offered.

My buddy has a limited 3rd gen runner (2002 I think). He has 2wd hi, AWD hi, 4wd hi, 4wd low. Has a whole infographic in the gauge cluster to tell you what's up too. The center diff lock is just like a normal locker. You can rig it up the same way as people who swap them in. Hell if you do it the way people usually swap in lockers you could have AWD low and 2wd low too.

Its well, interesting to say the least. Mechatronics is what you seek. But I don't want to work on machines all my life, thus I'm going for Industrial management.

    Yep.

If you fix and drive it, squeezing every bit of equity out them, you make money.

If you buy intending to fix and flip...you are fucked.

I put my cart on it's top, but there are days when I just want to roll it in the back without taking nothing off of it.
