I'm betting 78 is something to do with a record size or speed, but initially I thought you were referencing a year and was gonna say that was a great year hermano

 

1978 i was -21 years old

 

There were roughly 100 of them from the 1900s to the 1940s I saved.

It’s a consolidated talking machine. My guess around 1900 being it’s the company that became victor (then victor rca.. etc)

 

History of 78 records. I inherited a few a long long time ago. They were stored away at my mom's house. When we sold the house and cleared it out, I donated them to a thrift store.

I had a great aunt that lived way out in an old farmhouse much like your uncle's place. They must have bought one in the early 1900s before electricity was available to farms. I remember it worked when we went to visit. Not sure whatever happened to it.
