I've done a mod or two
That was honestly one of the most enjoyable things to people watch for in AZ. Everyone down there is a big (sometimes literally) 2nd amendment person, so they've all got the multicolored sunglasses lenses, the canvas shirts with pockets everywhere, the belts made out of reclaimed soldiers fatigues bolstered with paracord.... the various vehicle and body holsters for whatever armaments they can barely draw in timely manner. $2000 boots that they walk to their desk jobs with. They're tacticool to the max, but they're the epitome of insecure and washed up. These are the types of dudes that challenge a retail associate who says they're out of something. I think the heat and climate just baked these dudes insane

You described some of the guys I competed against at PRS and URSA a few years ago

Some of those guys made you wonder how many times they've watched Shooter, or took training they'll never apply in real life.

That's actually one of my co workers that bought one of my clone rifles. He's big into tactical shit and always asking me if I have cool shit I'd let him have etc.

Its the same near me. 3 percenter and molon labe stickers on the backs of vehicles etc.

I support the 2nd and Im a gunowner, but you wouldnt tell that by looking at me. Im not for advertising that sort of thing, especially in this day and age.

Just shut the door in a salesman's face :burp:

Guy rang the doorbell and when I opened the door I pointed to the no soliciting sign and said no thank you.

Him: I just need a moment of your time to talk about
    Me: I am good thanks
Him: we are in the neighborhood offering half off
Me: not interested thanks *starts closing the door*
Him: ARENT YOU WORRIED ABOUT MICE? What do
    ME: as door slams: goodnight

I'm supportive of it, I see the importance. But yeah, I don't advertise anything unless I'm being paid.

I had a 3% sticker on the back window of the Tacoma but the PO had done that, I just left it there. I did put a SIG sticker on it tho.

Oh I freakin love seeing those types of dudes giving me funny looks as I put on my canvas shooting coat and sling up with the M1. Meanwhile, a quick glance at their target with the spotting scope reveals a complete inability to shoot, even at much shorter distances than what I consider easy with basic iron sights. Having the "cool" gear doesnt make you an awesome shot by any means.

I don't have cool gear and still suck at shooting IRL.

You just reminded me, I'm going to the range for the first time in 8 years tomorrow. Buddy wanted me to shoot his newly assembled P90 and said he'd rent the range and buy a ton of rounds... so sure why not :D
