Why im im not wanting to do this myself lol. Half tempted to pay a local TW member so i can run the head while its apart to be inspected. Not sure how a local mechanic would handle that. Fuckin sucks man

 

@tymeson 2500 is insane, but the warranty is nice. Looks like none are local to me and only in tuscon tho

Ah the joys of over buying parts that reminds me I've got brand new manual hubs and wheel bearings I need to post up on the marketplace. Speedytech showed me I can keep my ADD hubs spindles and install the manual diff intermediate shaft so that way I'll only need to pull the J shift for 4x4, best of both worlds.

Other than the front ALWAYS spinning but I'm okay with that

 

Seems the 2 in the blue bag work on the transfer case, as well as the rear axle.

Top left, unsure.

Next one below, they seem to work for the manual hubs? I don't recall needing those...so I must've ordered them for something else... @BartMaster1234 I seem to have 2 new bolts that you're missing

Below, diff drain plug gasket

Second row top, axle seal

Below that, drain plug crushable gaskets (3)

Third row top, axle snap ring which I assume is for the manual hub only since ADD uses a 35mm bolt (2)

Below that, drain plug gaskets (3)

Last row top, bolt with washer for manual hub (2)

Below that, diff drain plug which I might not even use since it's the allen key everyone seems to strip

Watch out if you plan of lifting it higher than 2" with em spinning all the time on over lifted rigs you wear the boots out faster

 

Yes, I had all the parts (and extras) to convert my truck to 4x4 sans transfer case and transmission.

Only backed out of doing so and sold all the parts because I'm picking up a 4R that's already 4x4 w/rear locker.

The Tacoma will just be a grocery getter.

My thought is the thicker aluminum would shed heat a little better. More surface area as well. And the added capacity, along with the better cooler I already installed, would just add up to help keep things a little cooler in the extreme heat we get here during the summer.

 

Never been a problem for the last few. I don't know how high the buyers lift 'em after I'm done. The green one in my current avatar had 3-3.5" lift, no issues. 120K miles.

 

Being armored up at the grocery store is nice; sliders have been door tested

 

Just finished this swap on a '00. Easy peasy.

 

Nothing like watching someone fold the edge of their door on the slider

Haven't noticed many door dings on any cars here in Tucson from parking lots. The parking spots here aren't wedged together like they are in CA.

 

Have you had someone yell at you and say they'd call the cops?

Happened months ago with an old man at Safeway. Was threatening me and told me I need to pay for his door.
