Yeah I won't be upset if I end up working outside of IT. I'll just have to see where things go.

 

All the guys in our architecture/planning department on campus are 45+. Not sure why but seems to be the norm.

 

BecUse the ones who learned to draft before computers were heavily used are far better at thinking outside the box in solutions and what not because they were never taught to rely on a computer.

Oh well. I draft my own stuff on paper. Good enough For me

 

meh having things in a 3d environment that you can manipulate also offers way more insight into possible solutions for problems

Interesting observation about problem-solving skills. I remember those days. We got a lot done in a short amount of time without graphical tools. Tools help save your work. But often I start with the last version from disk and modify it for the situation. Seems strange to start from a completely clean sheet of paper these days.

 

You will be good at IT should you decide to pursue it. People with strong mechanical backgrounds usually do well and last a long time.

The one thing that hasn't changed in IT since the very beginning is people.
