Only if they're reading so wrong that it over or under fuels massively. And that's uncommon because OBDII computers are designed to detect that, throw a code, then ignore the sensor until you fix it.

Misfire and the temp rise points to head gasket issues typically.

We've got it under control in WA, now we just have everyone else's smoke though. Soon to be Canada's problem

That's my thought, or since it's a Firestone, they didn't lash the valves properly and some are staying open once warmed up. Could be reused head bolts too... Since he said the temp gauge responds to load, I'm inclined to believe it's not accurate and it is a grounding error and the head isn't properly connected to the gauge grounds. Bet the computer temp sensor reads right.

My girlfriends old dodge had a cracked head. Under load it would get hot. Idle it would cool off. Also had a misfire under higher load.

The AC and the other gauge idiot sensors ground to the intake on the head, he said it instantly goes up with the AC on. AC doesn't get hot enough instantly to impact the ability of the rad to keep up

We're hanging in there, worst for us is the smoke. They are evacuating parts of our town in the foothills but we are on the edge of the evac zone so hopefully we won't have to

Only 6% contained and they are predicting it won't be completely extinguished until mid Oct. This area hasn't burned in over 50 years so it has a lot of fuel.

Not my pic but we live right by this high school

My "missfire" is different from prior with my hg and head issue. Also truck would run rough on hot starts which isnt present. The missfire/rpm jumping erratically is worse if the truck isnt allowed to get to temp before driving. And instead of a missfire like its hitting a rev limiter when i had the bad hg, the rpms spike upward and it has issues from that. If coolant was leaking in again the rpms should be dropping, no?
