That’s a rare bird the sr5 long beds. Very few exist. 05-06 I don’t believe it was even offered. I’ve been pleasantly surprised what my little fixer upper tundras worth. For shits and giggles I had work give me an appraisal. Trade in they’d give me 8100 For it. I about shit a brick (that was assuming I got the interior all one color)

The V8 is no slouch. I drove the hundy today and that 2UZ is soooooo smooth and gutsy (at least for what I'm accustomed to) I mean caddy smooth. Then I drove the taco after that and....... Yeah. I'm glad the Tacoma is extremely reliable:D

the blower is safe if you kept it stock pulley which is still 320 hp i believe. plenty of almost 300k trucks running around with the blowers from new. it was the smaller pulleys that killed them

the new 5.7 is a monster. but im happy to say the 4.7 moves the older smaller tundras around just about as fast, but are Much smoother running. the UZ motors are truly one of the best motors to ever come out of toyota.. i'd even reckon theyre more reliable than the 5vz. not by much.. but they are proving to last really long with some neglect

budget swap would be 1uz rods from a 90-93 lexus 4.0. direct swap, bit beefier. but they do make forged rods for the 4.7 too.
you want to make real power? the closed deck aluminum 4.3 with 4.7l heads has proven to be a pretty decent setup for boost i hear. not to mention youd shave off a 100 or so lbs

ive had at least 6 3.0 3.3 and 3.5l cars come in running on 3 cylinders because the owner overheated them and destroyed the rear bank headgasket... but guess what, they still run pretty good with the front bank! lol

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Nope, they're even worse because the frame is more flat in the front.
