I think it would be painful to lose a few fingers, some deep tissue, or your life from a recluse bite, but somehow I don't think he's going there...

You could probably continuously watch youtube for the rest of your life and not see certain stuff with how much garbage is on there, but I've seen a College Humor video at least once...

My dad was bit by a recluse a few weeks ago. Didnt even know it happened until my mom saw the bite. Nastiest bite Ive ever seen. He got some steroid cream and a day later he was good to go. Modern medicine is a great thing to have.

My friend from Victorville had a neighbor who lost a thumb to a one and she had a skin graft from one by her collar bone. I've heard worse stories about people I'm less familiar with. Man I'm glad your dad ended up being alright after being treated - you said it about modern medicine. Even just a hundred years ago life would have been a lot different!

100 years ago it was rare for people to live pass 50. My dad works for Eli Lilly and the way modern medicine is made is what fasinates me. But I deal with the chemical disposal side of things.

Essentially my dad takes assortment of chemicals and mixes them at various steps of the process to make the meds. And for me I take the various chemicals that companies send here and break them down to a harmless product and dispose it correctly. You'd be surprised how many deadly chemicals go in to make meds.

Can we have both? Granted longer lives is nice but personally the human body is pushing it around 85-90 years

I thought about it one time and it may not be 100% accurate, but medicines are basically poisons that do good things when taken in small doses - if any medicine is taken in a large enough dose it probably won't be good lol.

Your right. For example one medicine my dad produces uses hydrofluoric acid. They use it to break down the molecular structure to add another molecule. Another chemical they use that's hazardous is bhopal. One drop of that stuff can kill. But the dosage of that per pill in example is so small it has no effect on the human body. They also neutralize it it with another chemical to remove it.

In fact I had the privilege of going into Lilly as a request of my dad as a outside opinion to teach them how to handle a chemical that was new to them. There so called "engineers" had no clue how it'll react to there safety percautions and equipment. This stuff which I won't say could kill you before you knew it touched you or was inhaled. I sat there for 3 hours in a meeting room as they explained everything they were doing and at the end told me there "safety percautions" it was in a 50 gallon barrel with a 20 gallon inside it. that contained a bag with a beaker of this stuff in it. They had a suit imo was beyond under qualified for this procedure and gloves. They did zero testing on the equipment and I shut it down the second I saw it. And to concrete I'm actions I dropped 80 pounds of paperwork on them explaining in full detail what this stuff was, did, and what gear you need to handle it. Also license requirements and so forth. Then I insulted there "engineers" for thinking of such an idiot thing as they did.

My dad's boss agreed with me on the spot saying that"I don't want to see people die for negligence"
