Oh... dude... I’m about to send you down a rabbit hole.

The U.S. used to utilize Titan II ICBM’s as a part of our nuclear arsenal. There were 54 facilities in Arizona, Arkansas, and Kansas. As part of the denuclearization treaty in the early 1980’s, the U.S. Govt. blew them all up, buried them, and sold the land for pennies.

People like Nik (who owns the site I do work for) bought it for fun. Some people buy them to turn into homes. These are the most fortified structures to be ever sold to the public. The walls are eight feet thick and covered in 3” of steel to prevent EMT radiation.

There are a few people on YouTube who own a Titan II site, here are some good places to watch:

Death Wears Bunny Slippers (absolutely watch this guy, unlike Nik he actually dug up his complex)

    https://youtu.be/iCPmuA1v8qQ

Atomic Underground (this is where my light came from)

    https://youtu.be/l1rQox9j1oI

Here’s a diagram of the site. The silo itself had the top 10 feet blown up, and they pushed all the rubble inside. Then they poured a 5 foot thick concrete cap on top and back filled it with dirt. The only usable parts of the site is the launch control center, the entry portal, and the long cableway. (after you dig the entry portal up and drain the facility of groundwater)

Too funny - I had one day when I was living up in Central Coast with 25’ waves where I paddled out and made it out past the break - I still have dreams of waves like that. Hopefully we catch a ride on the 2021.

Looking for pics of it that swell I found this, pretty funny lol
