Got a week into this. So sick of being crouched down for 8ish hours a day. Just have those 20 pink wires left to install, and I need to fix that bundle of tiny frustrating 24ga wires that is left of center. Will be done tomorrow thank God. Then on to the back side which wont take more than a few hours hopefully.

Well...all that talk about my work and being the last man standing apparently jinxed myself (sorta)

Latest company fat trim includes cutting me from full time to 3 days a week "until this all finally blows over"

Guess that gives me some cushion while I look for the next thing

Glad you aren't completely outta work but it's still a bit of a blow I would guess. But it also sounds like you half expected it. Is the wife back working at all?

Yeah it was always looming on the horizon with how many other people they've let go entirely, as long as they company exists they need someone to do what I'm doing but they are just trying to trim as much of the fat off as humanly possible. I'll play along while I look for something else but I can't survive on a 3/day week gig long term.

My wife owns 2 pilates studios, part of a franchise. Before covid they were doing well but they've been shut down since March

Fuck, that sucks. CA needs to reopen some of that, or allow it. I know my old Crossfit gym in San Diego is still open and doing classes, albeit outdoors. Maybe outdoor pilate classes could work?

That's a huge pay range lol

We want to move out of LA but I doubt I could sell her on Utah lol.

yeah it's getting really frustrating to be honest, no real sense in what's been allowed to reopen and what hasn't. They are doing some outdoor classes but her locations don't make it possible to do full classes outside, plus with the crazy heat we've had it hasn't been too popular

yeah gonna start looking more aggressively at getting out of LA at least. My job was the biggest hold back. We have to be near her family in North/east CA since her mom is in her 70s and her brother just got diagnosed with brain cancer, surgery is tomorrow actually.
