They're pretty close price wise, I'm running STT Pros on my Tacoma and they're darn proud of those in 285/75/16 and 315/75/16. Maxxis is getting cheap again as people start to go to instalander brands like BFG. So maybe those will be viable for the next set I have to buy.

Yeah it's nuts. In this size the STMaxx were a good $15 more expensive per tire than the BFG KM2 and KM3, but my experience with KO2s keeps me away from those

The KM2 was the shit, loved em, and if the price wasn't outrageous I would 100% try KM3s

America's Tire had the KM3s at the same price as the KM2s which was interesting, $250ea in 255.

Wish the ST Pros came in 255, they are my favorite looking tire

    No.

I don't think tundra axles are full float and nor do they have the 9.5" diff and the 80 axle is offset to the pax side and has extra trussing on it

Or wait were you talking the sequoia?

The 255 size is great for simplicity on a 1st gen, but I believe it's 100% worth doing the extra clearancing to run 285 and 295 if you don't want to pay out the ass for a tire size that basically doesn't exist (255). Plus then your truck won't look like it skipped leg day :p

Damn, all this talk of expensive tires.

I got my 4 for $890 after taxes.

    A 5th would've put me over $1k

I like my Toyos. Not many people run them but they are an outstanding tire offroad. Quiet on the road and last long too.

I considered those they were a couple bucks cheaper but they are the tallest 255 on the market (that I saw), 33.5". That's almost an inch bigger diameter than STMaxx and I don't to find out I rub all over again in Moab lol

Yeah I tagged him a few times.

He even mentioned coming out with us as he's in our big group/message but no reply.

    Yup

Extra lbjs and maybe outer tire rods if I can grab a couple cheap trail spares before the trip
