The sequoia has the only Toyota master cyl that mounts with a diagonal stud pattern, and instead of making a different booster with the right pattern, they rotated a normal Toyota two stud booster by machining a stud adapter for the firewall side. It makes no sense to me.

Like this took more energy to design.

Perplexing, they probably did that because of the electronic booster thing they put on the newer ones

Strange things happen when you have an unholy combination of engineering and accounting.

Yeah, now I have to find one of these stupid rotation brackets though. And that's proving tough as it's a separate part, ordering a booster doesnt get you one :/

I assume a booster from a 1st gen tundra or something won't fit?

Oh it absolutely will and I actually intend to use one. the issue is mounting the Sequoia master cylinder to it doesn't work without the rotation. And I don't want to use a tundra master cylinder because they have rear drums

    Ooooh. I see.

It would be wild if a 2nd gen frontier master fit.

The tundra is the exact same booster and master as the Tacoma. SOS performance makes the adapter for the sequoia master to tundra/taco booster

I'm considering leaving all this nonsense with the booster alone and using an 80 series master cylinder because those are also disc brakes in the rear and similar front caliper size. and that uses the old Toyota master cylinder flange that my early first gen already has

I'm not paying $300 for a piece of welded tube. That whole website and their kits are stupid money for commonplace parts

Also, this is only true of the single diaphragm booster and master combo, the early double diaphragm, master, and pedal box are different

Well you know what I meant. 01-04 tacos and all the 1st gen tundras share the same booster and master.

What are your thoughts on leaving the dual diaphragm booster and just slapping an 80 series Master on. seems like the disc brakes are about the same size between the two in the rear. And 80 series front discs are somewhere in between stock taco and stock Tundra calipers.
