those things, hands down, are probably the absolute best built cars to ever come from Toyota

 

co workers dad is about to hit 400k on his, only replaced the air suspension with coils, he bought it new. i think its an 04

 

If I had the funds, I'd go take a look at that black 05. I kinda dig it.

 

theyre tanks, and theyre comfortable. the only real issue with the 430s is the air suspension, but thats easily rectified with a coil conversion.

Vehicles of colors are something I’d never consider consider for off pavement use. I don’t care about scratches but they sure don’t show up as easily on white paint

This is true. But that's a luxury car, not something I'd be going off road with. The 4Runner shows most of the scratches tho.

 

Is the 3UZ the same dimension and all as the 2UZ? Maybe swap a 3UZ into the 4Runner if the motor ever dies?

 

@Empty_Lord Just finished some work on my brother's Tundra. For some reason the fenders, cowl, and drip channels was absolutely filled with dirt and leaves. My uncle did drive out of New Orleans during Katrina in this truck so maybe that's where the pounds of crap came from. Figured it might've been one reason it's getting bad leaks on the driver floorboard. I've singled out the passenger floor leak to one of the cowl bolt retainers mentioned here.

 

i cannot confirm anything other than 2 uz heads bolt on. i believe custom mounts may be needed.. but its still a uz block.. just aluminum. sub pan and oil pan will fit a 3uz from a 2uz too

 

leaves build up in those spots in all cars for some reason..

 

Just a thought to lighten up the 4Runner if the motor ever dies. It probably won't tho.
