I believe in reincarnation (but not like the Buddhists do) and think we need to die as an entire species (myself included, I am not exempt) and come back to spend time as something "simpler" before being gifted something as miraculous as abstract thought. We squander our gifts which separate us from the rest of the animal kingdom

I suffered some of that in my youth.
