I love that europe uses the metric system except when measuring beer. 2 pints to a quart, 4 quarts to a gallon

When you put it that way ive had numerous gallons of beer in a weekend:anonymous:

I'm toasty AF in our house, we have to keep the heater at 73˚ at night so the baby's room stays warm enough for her, since she's not old enough to sleep with blankets yet. Meanwhile in our room I'm having to kick the covers off, I hate being hot when sleeping

Under a year old they're not supposed to, suffocation hazard. Although she probably can by now since she's well over the expected size/weight of the average 10 month old. Usually it's not until around 12 months that they have the strength to get themselves out of a potentially hazardous situation if they smother themselves accidentally or something

Same reason it's not recommended to let them sleep in their own room until their at least a few months old, at that age if they roll over they don't have the strength yet to roll back and can suffocate face down in a mattress

Babies are pretty helpless creatures lol

Yeah if I had a kid it'd be dead by now. First food a rare steak, blankets next to a wood burning stove, a hearty breakfast of coffee and eggs. Riding shotgun in a vehicle older than me. I'm not cut out to take care of anything I can't trust with a modicum of self preservation haha, even a puppy would probably be a rocky endeavor for a couple months.

A lot of it is just mostly over precaution really, I mean we humans have survived for centuries before any of these recommendations were put in place. And the 'rules' change all the time.

For example when we were kids, it was normal to put babies to sleep on their stomachs because the fear back then was that they would die of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) if they slept on their backs. Something about gravity slowly suffocating them because their diaphragms aren't strong enough to sleep facing up for long. Which actually is a real thing but it's incredible rare, more likely to suffocate sleeping face down than to die of SIDS.

At a certain point you just have to do what you can and hope nothing awful happens lol

Wonder if Ounce, Lid and dime bags are a Euro thing.
If a dime bag sells for 5 pounds it could get confusing.

Well ideally you'll have equal if not more help from the mother when/if that time comes lol. I sure as hell couldn't imagine doing it on my own, I don't know how anyone manages that

props to all the single parents out there

yeah, that is a fair point. My perspective is from the side of having a background of being with people who accepts responsibility initially and then disappears and leaves me holding the pieces together.

takes a bit of self work to figure out how i kept landing in that situation and to avoid it. still working on that part

Going good, only been to a few so far but I usually go during the day on weekends because it's less crowded. Went this AM before work even though it was in the mid 50s out, but I'll take cold outdoor workouts over 110˚ outdoor summer workouts any day

Going in the AM isn't so bad since I'm usually up around 630 nowadays, I just have to make sure it's on a morning where the baby slept well the night before. If it was a rough night then I usually let my wife sleep in until I leave for work since she's the one that gets up with her at night

30 min walk every morning with the GF at 430,(cardio) gym 4-5 days/ week at LA fitness.

Nothing crazy, but im prolly getting in 1500 cal/day versus prior. My doc i work for does not take a lunch so I often will only have 2 meals or one good one/ day. Weight has just been sloughing off doing "intermittent fasting".

U still going to gyms in CO? how are the restrictions

I haven't looked in awhile but after covid hit, home workout equipment went through the fucking roof price-wise. It was crazy

I would like to get a couple outdoor things to use once it comes back down a bit, maybe a row machine and a bench press that can be kept outdoors
