Generally, the insurance companies don't do a full forensic analysis of a collision unless there are some extenuating circumstances, like a criminal investigation. It's cheaper just to cut a check and be done with it.

Yeah that's what I figured. And if I had it towed to my house for them to look at it I'd just put it back on. In any case not planning on totaling my truck ever haha

 

Well heres hoping classes get canceled as my city is a direct target for this hurricane. 13" of rain coming this Friday.

Most definetly at Camp Lejeune right on the coast. Paris Island in Charleston SC is the next closest marine base. I'm 200 miles from the coast, its expected to be tropical or a cat 1 by the time it gets to us. And our city just got over a bad Tornado from this past spring too. One thing after the other it seems. But Ill take rain over fires and quakes any day.

 

One of my favorite stand up routines is Ron White's "drunk in public" routine.

He gets arrested for being drunk in public, but complains that he was perfectly happy being drunk in a bar and they should arrest those who threw him into public.

I can only imagine what your insurance would do if you rolled on say an interstate interchange (60+mph turn) and they proved you had no swaybar. Not worth it to me.

Meh, the likelihood they would check something that specific is next to nil - it costs too much money. They only care about how much it'll cost to fix or replace your vehicle.

I've been in a few wrecks in my day, and I've never been asked to provide things like brake maintenance records, etc... They simply don't care about that stuff.

Even if there is a criminal investigation, the insurance company doesn't investigate that stuff anyway (law enforcement does that).
