    1) Buy umbrella
    2) Roll down window
    2a) Stick umbrella out window
    3) Open Umbrella
    4) Set handle of umbrella on window sill, top of umbrella on roof
    5) ???
    6) Profit!

I've done that as well. Used the magic mesh screen material so I can still get a breeze... that worked okay but any kinda real cross wind during the rainfall and the raindrops would turn into little tiny drops that were more annoying than soaking

This is one of those 'If it's stupid, but it works, is it still stupid?' moments.

Yep. Living outta van, I've tried this as well

You have the issue of the cross breeze again.. securing the handle on the inside becomes awkward and in the way so you'll end up just resting it and boom! There goes your umbrella down the street

Yeah wind is hell, maybe if you loop the wrist strap of the umbrella around the window crank.

No window crank? Sucks to be you

I won't buy a vehicle without window crank option

In before someone calls me a boomer

I honestly didn't think about that because the strap was too short and it was one of those travel umbrella I got for free so I didn't put any thought into

I just went with regulating the window height depending on conditions

lol. I had very little choice when buying my taco, but _everything_ is manual and that makes me so happy.

I think my last improvised rain shelter was a motorcycle, some rope, and part of a rain fly on a tent. No wind, so I was good. Also, I was wearing rain gear, so maybe I didn't notice how awful my shelter was.

I wonder if this is why people doing the #vanlife buy the vent fans.

Me and the bois would hand out under a bridge by the highschool :rasta:

There was a pipe when the canal was low we would walk across, I never fell but saw a couple people take a swim

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
I may of put a decent sized order in for parts for the 01 taco... she may be ready for the engine and trans sooner rather than later (trans needs to be sent to Florida to get done). Hoping to have frame completely ready for the body at the latest spring, body work I’m on a waiting list. Body work might not happen till summer, guy doing it is busy as all hell because of people’s COVID projects
