iirc, theres enough play in the brake lines to slide the master cylinder off of it without undoing anything. Never done it myself but had to research it for an issue I had awhile back.

I think you’re probably right from the video I just watched, I hate bleeding brakes though.

Have you ever tried bleeding brakes with clear hose and a jar.
Easiest and cleanest single handed way.

I don’t know about the Tacoma, but on my 300zx it’s just the brake lines, hose, and four nuts. Takes 15 minutes to remove.

Has anyone seen or done the rear 2.0" such mount kit from total chaos? Any opinions on it? Starting to look into upgrading the rear end now that the front end is LT. The back end isn't cutting it for me anymore.

Every time I use this method (gatorade bottle, clear tubing, hole for tubing, small breather hole) people look at me like I’m crazy and keep bleeding them straight on the ground.

Doesn’t look that hard, I don’t know how hard the master valve is to pop out of the booster but other than that it’s just 4 bolts in the drivers floor board

Hard part is bleeding TBH, I hate bleeding. Don't let the master cylinder run dry or you'll have to bench bleed it.

I've tried both harbor freight bleeders, they were horrible. I gave up after that and just bought the professional shop tool that pressurizes the master cylinder to push brake fluid through.

You'll be fine with the Gatorade Bottle and 2nd Man method though.

@JKO1998 I would also take this time to replace the master cylinder. It's going 20 years old at this point and the rubber in there is definitely degraded. They're cheap.

This is how you bench bleed a new master cyl:

Yeah, that's true. It's probably fine. Just don't let it run dry, always keep fluid in it.

I had to replace the master on a 112k 1993 Civic because the rubber had degraded so much inside the cylinder that it was contaminating the brake fluid. The rubber just turned into this paste. Same for the clutch master cylinder.

I’m really wondering if it’s just the grommet between the reservoir and valve, I don’t have the other signs of a leaking booster other mentioned in the other thread.

    don’t know for sure

I'd just replace the Booster. Brakes are something you don't want to skimp on.

For sure, I’ll have to price the booster and valve just to see
