Man it's windy AF here tonight, probably going to see a bunch of downed trees tomorrow.

The mountains just east of us that burned over summer are behind a huge thick cloud of ash that's kicked up from the high winds, looks like a bomb went off

 

Windy here too. Huge shopping center sign that was 40 feet tall fell over last night.

 

Just hoping we don't lose power, that would suck. I keep meaning to get a generator, should probably get on that.

 

Klaxon is actually an interesting case of words that have become so synonymous with a product, it entered the public domain. Klaxon was once a company who made audible warning devices for old cars and ships.

Just like Kleenex, Dumpster, Chiclet, Jacuzzi, Jet Ski, Aspirin, Band-Aid, Linoleum, Escalator, etc etc etc. The Spanish word for gum is actually Chiclet, which is a brand name.

 

I bought mine a long time ago in the midst of the PG&E power shutoffs haha. Don't you guys have that too? I think you have ConEdison down there. , it's quiet enough to run 24/7. I bought a natural gas carburetor so I can run it off the house, never have to refuel it.

 

They do rolling blackouts over summer but not to the extent that you guys have them. I don't think we've ever had our power shut off intentionally.

I'm the neighbor with the unfortunately steep hard/driveway where all the trash lands. After a big wind I can probably fill a trash bag with crap that landed out front

 

Y'all have cookbook recommendations for simple ish meals?

Searching for recipes online is overwhelming and tedious.

 

We get it under our deck in the walkout. Easy cleanup though. I just leafblow it into the neighbors house that is usually to blame

 

We have a ton of palm trees lining the streets and they drop these huge fonds that are solid AF and can weigh a good bit.



Surprised I haven't heard of one killing somebody yet, you definitely don't want to be parked under one in a wind storm

 

I should get a leaf blower. I fill bags and bags with leaves and I don't even have trees
