Google sheets is much easier for the average Joe to comprehend, we use it at work quite often in place of Excel...it's more user friendly

I really should do this...my maintenance log is a bunch of scribbled notes in a beat up notepad in my glove box lol.

I don't really like it much, but I'm just used to Excel really, but for shared documents, Google sheets certainly dominates.

Biggest thing for me is I'm at the parts store and getting maint type stuff and I happen to forget a part number. I can pull up my spreadsheet on my phone and there it is for me. Has happened a couple times in the past.

half the time I forget to jot it down afterward and then just end up guesstimating it a few months later

I have the pleasure of being a human integration robot for sheets and excel since our district is going toward google fulltime for teachers (people who have real business type work like accounting and such still get excel) and yeah, they seem to get Sheets more because it hides complex work behind menus they'll never click. But boy if you get them started with formulas...

I take pics with my phone of the odometer and whatever's else is related, then spreadsheet it when I get around to it.

    Same for fuel receipts.

I'm the guy in the aisle trying to find part numbers on Google, telling the employee 'no I don't need help' even though I do.

My sister did a management course a while back at Cornell and they're actually moving people away from excel and toward Matlab for accounting. which seems weird. but it's easier to audit

I only get out excel for small potatoes stuff. Everything else I do python.

The nice thing about my spreadsheet is that I found it on a bike forum, adapted it to what I needed and used it over the years. I've got it basically dialed in to where all I have to remember now is to update the mileage every now and then and it tells me what maint is needed. Stupid simple now.

Got into the habit with the motorcycle on long trips. ain't nobody got time to deal with receipts on a bike,if you even get one in the middle of nowhere

Need to beef up my spreadsheet though,it doesn't tell me anything about when to do things

That's a good idea and something I wish I had done early on, that sort of thing seems to make a big difference in private sales when you have records/receipts to show.

When that day comes for me, I'm just going to show the dude a notepad with scribbles missing half the important info, and hope they don't really care lol.
