It happens in waves. I do constantly slowly acquire the parts and store them away. Work on it as I get more.

Like I said though. Totally looking at spring time to have the frame plug and play ready.

    Pics?

I was surprised how quick and easy it was to get the rear lowers on; same with the adjustable panhard bar even though I adjusted it slightly longer to center the axle.

    How'd your uppers go?

Bug thing now is restoring the engine harness unless I can find a nice clean one that doesn’t have 300k miles of wear and rear.

Hmm...mountain conditions close to home are R3 right now, meaning even 4wd will be required to have chains.

I don't have chains for my 255s, don't really want to pick some up just for a day trip...although R3 conditions could mean less people, or more likely it will probably mean more people doing more stupid shit.

Gonna just go north of the city and hope they don't require chains up there

Figured out my graphics issue finally BTW. Failing memory chip on the GPU. So I’m fucked unless new gpus actually become available

It all went smoothly, no squeeks or clunks

Going from my torn uppers to the poly/heims made a big difference

I had to cut slits into the bushing so the grease could flow through the bushing/sleeve surface and add zerks to make them greaseable

    Ooh shit, that makes sense.

See I knew it couldn't have been the game because I looked up graphics issues, etc and several people run 1080 and 1080TI without issue.

GPU's right now are nearly non-existent...at least the 30x0 series that is.

I really hope my 98 drives like the 01 after the lcas since that was the only stock part left and it just so happened to be fucked

Instead of being nimble and gracefully while turning it was wandery and boat like

Steering rack bushings could add to the wandering.

The rack was replaced no more than a month before I bought it, I still need to do the tack weld to the steering shaft that was a major improvement on my 01

What's interesting is, that mod stood out to me a lot as something that the Tacoma needed.

It didn't wander, as I had replaced the LCA bushings, LBJs, etc. But there was always that tiny bit of play.

The 4Runner doesn't have it at all.

Rack bushings and tac weld in the tack eliminated ALL of my wander

I know there were improvements (as well as weight) between the two in terms of noise, vibration, and harshness. But the lack of steering wheel play had me scratching my head since I heard a lot about the steering tack weld mod.

Yeah I wish I had the tack weld mod done on the Tacoma.

But the 4R doesn't wander at all.
