Even my old 87 300zx had a low coolant sensor, it's not an uncommon feature for cars. BMW has had them standard since the 70s. But I think something about a plastic reed switch so close to 220* coolant is a bad idea. 220* is normal running temp for modern bimmers and I think a float switch would probably survive better in that.

It always seems to be triggered by allergens, it's annoying temporarily but they do go away.

Naw it ain't one of those "you should or shouldn't" things; don't need to bring that to the LT.

Just thinking out loud I guess if there's any benefit to it. I got COVID and it felt like a normal day with the only symptoms being loss of taste (an hour or two) and smell (a week and a half).

Flu? You could be near me with the flu and it still wouldn't hit me.

On another note; hard finding a welder that isn't more than an hour drive from me around here :annoyed:

You get roughly 90 days worth of immunity from a confirmed case in their estimation, that's what the CDC is going on at least. Might be beneficial if you have any plans to travel cause it sounds like they'll be moving to checking the vaccination record for flight clearance soon.

I can, and have considered it but it'll just sit in it's respective box.

Maybe I can just ask for a recommendation on a quality welder to do nothing thicker than say a bumper/sliders which is what 3/16" to 1/4" steel?

I won't be able to use it until we get the new house; old house doesn't have wiring up the snuff (which is why I never bought one) and apartment welding is a no go.

Well my day got a lot more boring. Was supposed to rotohammer a 3/4" hole through a brick wall on a genie lift about 18' in the air. But one of our wiring contractors busted the lift... so guess I'm not doing that

Good point on the flight clearance part, if that really becomes a thing.

Apparently having had COVID lends the body to become temporarily immune as well, similar to the shots you guys are taking.

No 20amp 110v outlets? For that heat range you can easily use a 110v welder. That's what I primarily use in my own garage. It works great, I can easily fire a 1/4 joint still

The power is "dirty" as I had to use two nice Furman line conditioners just for the surround sound and tvs in the house. Without anything on, voltage would drop down to "brown out" levels. Using the microwave on the same circuit as something else wouldn't cause fluctuation oddly enough but still, it left me not wanting to really use something as power hungry as a welder.

Hell, using the SVS subwoofers were power hungry enough seeing as how they're 14-16hz beasts.

I haven't fired them up in almost a year and a half now. One is still new (not broken in) and I should sell it already.

Yeah, that's pretty shitty. I typically use a 20a circuit that comes off my panel by about 1' and we have super solid power here, no voltage dips. I've gotten away with welding on a 15a circuit before, but you know how power works I'm sure, if the voltage drops the amperage pull increases so that would be bad if you're dipping below 100v. Transformer welders make dirty power anyway, but they don't like low voltage.

Yep; having done custom audio/video installs and having been an audiophile for many years really makes you look at someone's setup and wonder "what the fuck are you doing" o_O

It's especially funny in car audio, and the guy running high-current amps with small gauge power cable and a ground a lot longer than 12" suddenly causes his cables to melt and cause a fire in his trunk...I've only seen that once in my life fortunately.
